The Brooklyn-based
hip hop duo All City comprised rappers J. Mega and Greg Valentine.
The duo came together in 1993 after back-to-back solo performances
at a Lyricists' Lounge open mic session; both performers so impressed
the crowd and each other that they decided to team up.
Signing with Onyx's label Armee, All City issued their debut LP,
Metropolis God, in 1998.
Hailing from the streets of Brooklyn, All City put together a great
debut release, METROPOLIS GOLD. Providing us with a steady dose
of neck-crackin' beatz, All City rip track after track while throwing
hook-laden melodies into the mix. "Who Dat" and "Metrotheme" offer
the listener a glimpse into the All City world. The two New Yorkers
share their Brooklyn experience with tracks like "Ded Right," "Afta
Hourz", and "Just Live". Also check for "The Hot Joint (remix),"
"Favorite Things," "Timez Iz Hard", and "Daydreaming."
